Vehicle Description
Such an outstanding, well-built vintage truck! This 1933 Chevrolet
Pickup offers a great balance, with its genuine antique appeal
joining a whole host of modern upgrades and exhilarating power via
the strong V8 under its hood to provide a great driving experience.
It features a distinctive, well-applied finish and shows all the
hallmarks of being well cared for, so it's looking clean both
inside and out.
The flat black exterior is an eye-catching departure from the norm
- it provides a subtle look of customization while still retaining
the overall classic appearance and allows the exterior fittings -
all of which are in very good shape - to really stand out. Get up
close and you'll see that the fit and finish on display here is top
notch. The doors are precisely aligned with the rest of the cab,
the hood sits flush and there's clear glass on all sides of the
cabin. Both the visor above the windshield and the pair of fog
lights perched on the front bumper are stylistically accurate -
back in the day, many Chevy trucks of this era hit the road with
those visors in place and the additional lighting was often added
in just this same manner. By the time this classic rolled off the
assembly line, Chevy had taken the entire production of its pickups
entirely in-house, turning out trucks that were both stylish and
ready for duty right away and, from front to back, this specimen
sure looks the part.
All the nostalgic magic outside comes at no sacrifice to a
comfortable experience behind the wheel. The interior on this Chevy
is well thought out and carries a number of great features.
Everything inside the doors is looking very fresh - there's really
no perceptible wear to be found. The cloth bench seat combines with
a pair of padded backrests mounted to the rear wall of the cabin
and a banjo-style Chevy steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column
to arrive at the perfect driving position. There's some really nice
craftsmanship evident as well - the assortment of fully functional
Autometer gauges are surrounded by a well-prepped wooden dash face
and the matching overhead console puts both interior lighting and
the controls for the aftermarket stereo within easy reach. In back,
a fuel cell provides modern-level safety as it sits concealed
behind a wall matching the wood paneled bed.
This vintage Chevy was configured with a priority on exhilarating
drivability. There's a nicely detailed 350 cubic inch V8 inside the
compartment that wears matching matte-finished valve covers and air
cleaner and it's running strong. The engine is equipped with an
Edelbrock carb and intake, as well as an HEI ignition to maximize
available spark, and exhales into a pair of aftermarket headers
while pairing with a smooth-shifting automatic transmission. The
featured Mustang II front clip offers not only a vastly improved
ride, but also front disc brakes and rack and pinion steering to
eliminate the excessive wheel play often found on aftermarket
steering boxes. To further increase real-world reliability,
Painless wiring has also been added. Rear traction bars help ensure
that the power hits the pavement as it should as this well-equipped
pickup turns heads on its set of painted steel wheels bearing
Chevy-branded hubcaps and wrapped with BF Goodrich Control Plus
tires. A look below will confirm just how sturdy the foundation on
this '33 is.
