This 1969 Datsun 521 pickup showing 14,793 miles, was purchased by the seller from long-term California ownership.
Produced from 1968-1972, the 521 was the first compact half-ton pickup sold in the American market. Powered by its factory 1.3L inline-four and paired to a 4-speed manual transmission, the truck remains mechanically and structurally sound and comes with service records acquired throughout the seller’s ownership documenting the replacement of many parts inside and out. It is sold with a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The car has been repainted in non-original Robin’s-Egg-Blue, or something similar. The body straight and honest with no substantial blemishes or rust along the rockers or wheel wells. The bed exhibits a modern rhino-lying styled bed liner in black and has not been used for anything but show. The 6-lug aluminum wheels are like new aftermarket and were installed by the previous owner new tires.
The interior shows a nice comfortable bench style seat in cloth/tweed. Door panels are trimmed in the same material as the seat and sports roll up windows that work well. Sound deadening material was used throughout and under new carpet and OEM style rubber floor mats.
The steering wheel is a sporty three spoke aftermarket. The dash panel remains free of cracks, original dash shelf and radio in place. All other controls, functions, and instruments have been checked and we can confirm that they remain operational.
The headliner retains proper fit and shows no signs of rips or tears. The windshield remains free of any noticeable cracks and remains in good condition. Both bumpers and grille surrounds appear original and look very presentable along with optional side mirrors and other brightwork. All lenses are clear and bright.
Truck really runs and drives well with braking acceptable for the model and year.
