Vehicle Description
1934 Ford Roadster
Popular among crooks and police, the 1934 Roadster could get away
from, or catch, anything out there at the time. In a letter to a
surprised Henry Ford, famous bank robber Clyde Barrow wrote: "I
have drove [sic] Fords exclusively when I could get away with one.
For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got ever
[sic] other car skinned and even if my business hasen't [sic] been
strictly legal it don't hurt enything [sic] to tell you what a fine
car you got in the Ford V-8."
For consignment a very nicely and tastefully rodded '34 Ford
Roadster. Beautiful paint, pristine convertible top, a TCI chassis
with a Wescott Body. Nicely finished interior with some custom
stitching, and a powerful 1969 mill plopped in upfront, will have
you grabbing attention, as well as the winding road ahead.
Exterior
As noted, a Wescott Body draped in Burgundy, with a smattering of
some flourish pin striping to add contrast. Chrome is beautifully
done, and fenders and running boards, as well as body panels are
straight and true. Wind wings have been added to both sides.
American Racing chrome Torque Thrust II wheels are all around.
Shaved suicide doors, pristine front grille, and correct headlights
add bling to the exterior. A very nice canvas convertible top in
Sand color, provides a good contrast to the burgundy body. With a
peek at the underside of this car, and the presentation carries
through as expected, clean and definitely rust free.
Interior
Tweed cloth with contrasting vinyl sides cover the two interior
buckets. Some custom stitching in burgundy noting '34 Ford is
emblazoned into the headrests. Matching vinyl door panels with
chromed "Roadster" brite work, and some new door pulls are seen. A
burgundy metal dash is peppered with chromed panels, and guilded
VDO gauges, and knobs. An adjustable steering column is noted and
fronted by a wood steering wheel. A new AM/FM radio with CD,
Bluetooth, MP3 unit by Boss surrounds you with any choice of music
you can dream up. A power antenna is there for convenience. Tan
carpeting covers the floors and presents in nice condition.
Drivetrain
The 350ci V8 circa 1969 sports plenty of chrome and is clean enough
to have a meal on. The TH350 transmission puts power to an 8" Ford
differential. Gleaming headers snake from the side of the mill to
the underside and make their way to the rear of the car ending in
chrome tips. Also, underneath is seen rear drum brakes, and front
discs, with a new independent front suspension and a new rack and
pinion steering unit.
