Vehicle Description
Such a cool looking vintage pickup! This 1958 Chevrolet Apache
combines an ultra sharp exterior decked out in an authentic-looking
color scheme and offers plenty of dependable power via an
assortment of quality components under the hood. If you're looking
to get behind the wheel of a truly classic truck but don't want to
sacrifice modern drivability, you need to check this one out.
This '58 was a proud member of Chevy's Task Force pickups - a group
of sturdy workhorses that added a number of aesthetic and
mechanical refinements to the preceding Advance Design line. The
fresh overall look of this classic is the first thing that grabs
your attention. Its well aligned exterior sports a very sharp red
and white paint combo that provides an authentic vintage appearance
to really make it come alive and the shaved door handles to each
side really allow the paint to step to the forefront. The panel
alignment looks great - the hood sits nice and level and the doors
are flush with the front fenders. Chevy brought out the wraparound
windshield the very year this truck debuted, and it not only
provided better visibility than what came before it, but its
curvature matches up nicely with the hood below. Up front, the pair
of twin headlights - another stylistic first debuting the very year
this truck came out - are surrounded by clean casings and both the
grille and bumper just below are looking their best.
The red and white interior is a great complement to what's outside
and it sports some great craftsmanship. The pair of two-tone red
and white bucket seats bring the exterior theme inside the cabin
and their fresh vinyl covers show no creasing or discoloration from
use as they loom over an expanse of matching red carpeting. A
sturdy woodgrain steering wheel provides a great look as it sits on
its tilt column, while just beyond it an assortment of Summit
gauges take the place of the originals in the dash, which has been
refreshed with plenty of prep work and nicely applied white paint.
There's an AM/FM/CD stereo also on board to look after your audio
requests and it teams with speakers mounted in the center console
to fill the cabin with sound. In back, the planks lining the floor
of the bed have been left in their raw state, but they look none
the worse for wear and sit nice and level as they support an
aftermarket fuel cell.
There's plenty of power on hand via the 350 cubic inch V8 that sits
inside a very clean engine compartment. It's been armed with a
Summit intake manifold and a 4-barrel Holley carb just below its
chrome air cleaner and a pair of chrome Chevy-branded valve covers
are at its sides. The engine is running strong and sends a nice
deep note into the aftermarket headers leading out to its dual
exhaust as it pairs with a 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission. An
HEI ignition system has also been added to maximize available
spark. Power brakes that include discs up front bring this great
looking Apache to prompt stops on its set of American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels - 17" in front and 18" in back -wrapped with Toyo H/T
Open Country tires that appear to have plenty of tread remaining.
Below, the undercarriage is in impressively solid shape.
This 1958 Chevrolet Apache is a very nicely restored vintage pickup

just as soon as you get it home. Call today!
