Vehicle Description
Get ready for cruising the boulevard or checking out the car shows
by coming down and checking out this beautiful Impala SS
convertible. Being a full sized hot-rod means that you can load it
up with friends for some fun on cruise night or both friends and
luggage too for a road trip.
Looking good in its factory correct Lemonwood Yellow, this car is
ready to roll. The smooth body lines start with a slight angle back
at the leading edge of the front fenders and flare out a bit as
they flow up and over the rear fenders. Crossed racing flags with
396 Turbo Jet as well as Super Sport in script appear on the front
fenders. A stylish chrome grill holds quad headlights and a
Chevrolet Impala SS badge underlined by a sharp looking chrome
bumper. A line of chrome trim looks great running down the full
length of the car and the wheel wells and rocker panels also get
dressed out in chrome. The triple taillights on this '66 continue
an Impala character trait started in '58 and look great as they
pick up that chrome side trim and tie it nicely together from side
to side. The large trunk has plenty of room for lots of luggage
even with the power operated black convertible top folded down into
it, so go ahead, load up and head out with this car.
Open the door, one that is plenty big enough for easy entry into
the back seat too, and you will find an interior that is dressed
out in the perfect balance of Black, chrome and brushed metal. The
door panel has a long armrest with power window switches at your
finger tips and a slash of chrome across the bottom. The black
two-spoke steering wheel has a semi-circular chrome horn ring and a
leaping Impala center button. A rectangular speedometer is set deep
under the shroud of the black dash keeping the sun off of it nicely
while accessory controls are set in a brushed metal panel trimmed
in chrome that runs from side to side. The ventilation controls in
the center include those for A/C and the T-handle shifter for the
automatic transmission rises from the long center console. Black
Strato-bucket front seats are comfortable and Super Sport vinyl
floormats protect the black carpeting.
Pop the hood and you will find a rare treat. A numbers matching,
396 cubic inch motor. Staying in character with the factory
original color on this car, this engine remains factory original
stock. Of course, it produces plenty of torque to get this
full-sized SS down the road with plenty of speed and does it while
keeping it composure, so why mess with success. The black air
cleaner assembly announces it with a 396 Turbo-Jet 325HP sticker
while chrome valve covers add a splash of flash. Signs of good
maintenance include a new brake booster and master cylinder that
put the squeeze on front disc brakes as well as a new radiator.
Everything is neat and clean and properly routed including Air
conditioning lines that look fresh and are wrapped in protective
insulation. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic
transmission to a 12-bolt rear end. Coil springs front and rear
provide a nice ride while matching sway bars at both ends make for
a good handling car and SS wheel covers complete the picture on
this car.
Get ready for summertime fun with the roomy, fast, and rare Impala
SS convertible. Come on down and check it out!
