Vehicle Description
Rare, documented with Marti report- only 91 made in this color! Not
to mention it has the very desirable M-code 351 Cleveland, air
conditioning and it's dressed up real cool with Eliminator package.
Overall this is a solid, good original car that's been restored and
maintained as needed. Has 82,983 miles.
EXTERIOR: Super rare Competition gold paint. Dressed to impress
with stripes, spoilers, hood scoop, sport mirrors and some great
wheels. They are a modern version of the originals, 15 inch cut
billet aluminum made by American Racing. Has Cooper Cobra white
letter tires on each of them. Overall condition is good. The body
is straight and clean, panels fit nice. It has had only 1 repaint.
It is polished to a glossy finish, there are some imperfections.
The chrome is original still presents well, not show quality. The
retractable headlights function.
INTERIOR: The XR-7 interior was pretty deluxe. Features include
high back bucket seats with genuine leather inserts, full
instrumentation including a tachometer, deluxe steering wheel with
rim blow horn, console and interior light toggles. It also has
Am-Fm stereo. Overall condition is good. It is not beat up or
abused, it's what you'd expect out of a well cared for 82,000 mile
car that is 50 years old.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The M in the vin # designates there is a high
compression, high performance big block 351 Cleveland with 4 barrel
carb. Thought by many to be one of the best motors Ford offered. It
featured large port heads, big valves, flat top 11:1 compression
pistons, performance cam etc. This motor has been completely
rebuilt, we have receipt with specs. The overall compartment is
clean and proper, not show detailed. The factory air conditioning
system appears to be complete. There are power steering and brakes.
A few upgrades include billet distributor, Holley carb and coated
headers.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Good solid original metal painted body color.
Has a trunk mat and a spare.
UNDERSIDE: The bottom of the car is very respectable. The floors
and frame rails appear to be good, solid original metal. Very
neatly bent fat exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Even the
lower inner 1/4s are clean. Upfront it has disc brakes. The lower
control arms and ball joints are new. The steering system looks new
including the power assist unit. In back it has air shocks, new
fuel tank and sending unit. E-brake cables are hooked up. Bottom of
the motor is very clean, new starter. Has original 3-speed manual
trans which works great, it would be an easy upgrade to a 4 or 5
speed.
Again, this is a good solid car with great features. I love that it
is unique but still very cool. A real Eliminator in show condition
in the same rare color just sold at Barrett Jackson for
$110,000!
