Charcoal with silver coves and red interior and hardtop. 283 cu in, 230 HP engine single four-barrel. Powerglide automatic transmission. Excellent paint and perfect chrome. I purchased the car in 1995 and had a frame off restoration that took almost 2 years to bring the car back to its original beauty. Impeccably maintained and kept in a climate controlled garage in Palm Springs, CA. Driven to car shows only. Of the 1,631 Charcoal Vettes built in 1958 this is one of 543 with the exterior/interior color combo.
Charcoal was a one year color making it a rare color choice for the C1 body style. The 283 four-barrel is extremely reliable.
History of the car: The 1958 was the tightest, strongest, fastest, most contemporary Corvette at the time it was introduced. The dash was new and grouped all engine-monitoring instruments in front of the driver. The '58 was controversial for it's over the top chrome and hood lovers. Today it stands out as the beginning of a new era for Chevrolet.
