Vehicle Description
1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
"Owning a Monte Carlo is kind of like having your cake and driving
it too," Chevrolet insisted, blending the best virtues of the
luxury car and the sporty car. Base-priced at $3,362, the Monte
Carlo could be fitted with a long list of luxury conveniences to
suit its owner.
For consignment a survivor, all original car with original panels
with one respray, no patches or never any rust. Loaded with options
and potential for many a fun drive down memory lane.
Exterior
Rosewood Brown respray covers the all original exterior body panels
which are straight and true. All original badging is seen as well
as the new for 1972 front wide mesh grille. Original bumpers appear
in very nice condition, as well as original brite work. Chrome drip
moldings (roof and body) are in good condition straight and true. A
stainless rocker molding is present and looks also in good
condition. Rally wheels are on all 4 corners. Throw in the tinted
glass option, and you have yourself a really nice Monte Carlo.,
which was used as a shower, not a driver, adding to its excellent
overall condition.
Interior
A swing of the large door reveals a vertical stitched textured and
buttoned saddle vinyl over some lower quarter gold carpeting.
Stretching between these two panels are wonderfully preserved firm
but supple excellent condition Saddle vinyl buckets seats, which
flank a center console that houses the locking glovebox/armrest,"
jet throttle like" automatic 2 posted with center horizontal bar
shifter, then some burl which covers a hidden ashtray and lighter.
The console narrows as it goes under the dash then dies into the
carpet as it reaches the firewall. Speaking of the dash, beautiful
burl and tan vinyl house a gauge package, and all correct gauges to
keep you up to date during your cruise. Fronting the dash is an NK4
sport steering wheel, that utilizes power steering to assist with
the cornering. Power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and
an AM/FM stereo with rear speakers have also been installed.
Drivetrain
Original 350ci V8 with attached 4-barrel carburetor sits in a clean
and unrestored engine bay. A Turbo 350 automatic transmission is
bolted to the back.
Undercarriage
The never any rust mantra hold here as well as no surface rust on
any panels, gas tank, brackets etc is seen anywhere. Power front
disc brakes are seen, and a posi traction rear axle setup is
installed.
Excepting the respray, it's all original and in perfect working
order. As noted, this car was a shower not a driver, and spent its
life being pampered in a temperature controlled, battery always
charged really nice garage. This consigner has been a loyal Classic
