FYI Thunderbird Story:

In 1955, the Thunderbird was revealed as a personal luxury car and changed over time until production ceased at the end of 1997. In 2002, Ford brought the Thunderbird back as a two-seat model that was available until the end of 2005, during its success Ford produced over 4.4 million Thunderbirds. The eleventh generation had the same two-seat coupe/convertible layout as the first generation as well as some of the same characteristics as was on the 55 - 57 T-Birds. Because the Thunderbird shared the same DEW98 platform as the Lincoln LS and Jaguar S-Type, they shared interior styling - particularly in the dash area, instrument panel, steering wheel and a Jaguar designed AJ-30 3.9L DOHC V8.

This particular model is hiding a 3.9L V8 FI DOHC 32V engine and a select shift automatic transmission under the hood and has a total of just under 10,000 miles. The limited-edition T-Bird features an Eye-Catching Coral paint with Performance white top. This is number 262 of just 700 produced (verified by the identification plate concealed in the glove box).

Inside the car features leather trimmed seats in performance white and unique 007 engine turned aluminum trim. With such low miles, the car is just as clean as you'd guess, and would make a great show car, or an extremely clean driver.

This Thunderbird retains the looks and style of a classic, but all the creature comforts of a late model, so you get the best of both worlds.

OUR STORY - My husband bought this car for me as a surprise and a thank-you for indulging his many years of Corvette collecting. I'll admit I fell in love at first sight. I didn't think I wanted another convertible in my life – but WoW – this one was different. I truly enjoyed driving this care with the top down. The open sky above – the radio turned up loud. And the aerodynamics of it's body design makes for a surprisingly quite ride and not much “messing up the hair”.

There are a couple issues with this vehicle. When we purchased it we were told that the passenger auto-lock didn't unlock. It locks but will not unlock. So right after purchase – we had the REM (Right Electronic Module) replaced – but it stills needs the rear trunk module in order for the new REM to work. Hence, the auto-lock still does not unlock the passenside door.

We had some issues with the car not starting easily – so we had a new heavy-duty battery installed. That did not correct the problem entirely. So we replaced the PCM (Power Control Module) with a new one. Which corrected all the starting issues.

Currently some of the dash light are not working and we now have a new FEM (Front Electronic Module) on order. All the gauges work fine, some are just visible at night.

We were new to the Thunderbird World when we purchased this car. We have now come to realize that maintaining a Classic Car is a constant work in process. We are in our mid-70's and we both have health issues - which is the main reason this car is up for sale. With my husband's declining heath I just cannot bear the worries of keeping this lovely car in tip-top “Collectors Condition”.
