Pick of the Day was family owned for more than 50 years
Sixty-six years old and apparently ready for a run the length of Route 66, this well-reserved and original 1950 Buick Special sedan is the Pick of the Day.
For the 1956 model year, Buick built 13,770 four-door station wagons, including some 4,545 upscale versions of what was known as the Estate Wagon.
Hardtops were all the rage in the 1950s, with designers topping big cars with stylish pillarless rooflines that looked both graceful and sporty.
I had owned a 1956 Buick Special when I was sophomore in college.
On the eve of the 73rd anniversary of Pearl Harbor, one special survivor will roll onto the collector-car auction block looking as fresh as it did on the “date which will live in infamy.”
