From the gleaming black paint with stripe delete, to the beautiful Ivory bench seat interior, it screams uniqueness. Only the SS-454 Badges, SS rally wheels, and the cowl hood give it away. A closer inspection reveals an SS rally instrument cluster with in-dash tachometer and a 4 Speed shifter, to divulge it must have some go fast goodies.
It does with a powerful LS-5 454 cubic inch motor producing 360 horsepower, M22 4-speed transmission, 12 bolt posit-tack rear end with 3:31.1 gears, A set of long tube headers with large diameter exhaust pipes, turbo style mufflers, and correct SS chrome tips release the power. It sound awesome! During the engine rebuild, an electronic ignition was added and the standard timing chain was replaced with a gear drive system. The Super Sport F-41 heavy duty suspension can handle the power with stiffer spring rates, boxed lower control arms, and front/rear anti sway bars. Some additional updates were done here at Carlyle Motors including brand new carpet, new package tray and a vintage style stereo system that gives you the modern convenience of blue tooth connections and a little power to pump out some tunes.
The body is solid and looks to have only had one respray. You can see the original paint in the door jams, under the hood, and trunk. There is a small blemish on the hood about the size of a quarter but you have to look for it. the glass, chrome, and trim are all in terrific shape. The doors, hood, and trunk shut like a vault with excellent fitment.
The motor and trunk compartments are nicely sorted and it even comes with a show board displaying a copy of the build sheet.
