Vehicle Description
So the term "barn find" is a bit overused these days but this 72
Chevelle is a legit BARN FIND. It has been sitting in a barn in
Lumberton NC since 2000. It is a ONE OWNER CAR. The original owner
bought it new in NC in 1972 and transferred it to his wife's name
in 1982. Over the years they accumulated 57,438 miles on the
odometer and it has never rolled over. Those are the original
miles. With the history out of the way, lets go over the good and
bad on this car. We can knock the bad out first, since it will be a
short list.
The Bad: It needs painted. The owners touched up the paint on their
own over the years and you can tell. It needs seat belts. The lap
buckles are missing. The 350 CID engine is not a matching numbers
motor.
The Good: The 350 that is in it has Vortech heads, a rebuilt
carburetor, performance intake manifold, and it runs GREAT. It also
has a new front to back exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The fuel
tank and sending unit have been replaced with new parts. The body
appears to be rust free and the frame, trunk, and floors are all
rust and patch free. There isn't any bondo on the car to hide
anything, you will have pure metal to work with. It was Mulsanne
Blue / Antique White from the factory, and the vinyl top is in
great shape with no cuts. The carpet, headliner, and windshield are
all brand new. The rest of the interior is original. All of the
fluids (oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid) have just
been replaced. The brake system is all new. The front and rear
drums were resurfaced and the shoes, hubs, hardware, and hoses were
all replaced.
