Vehicle Description
STK 2552 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe
The Chrysler Corporation introduced postwar models in late 1945 and
they remained largely unchanged through model year 1949. These cars
were enormously successful with over 2.2 million built. This 1948
Plymouth Special Deluxe coupe was an Oklahoma car and received a
partial restoration in 2016. A single-stage enamel finish of Dove
Grey is accented by a generous allotment of chrome, rear fender
skirts, steel rims and full factory wheel covers. The interior was
nicely restored to original using high-quality grey 'mohair' cloth
material with burgundy trim. The classic '40s dashboard, with its
full compliment of gauges, still looks very much like it did in
1948. This coupe is powered by Chrysler's 218ci flathead
six-cylinder motor rated at 95bhp. These engines were well known
for their durability and low-end torque. The motor was rebuilt in
2016 and sounds great. It is backed by a 3-speed manual
transmission with column shift. Everything under the hood looks
very original including the factory 6-volt electrical system.
Four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes provide stopping power. This solid
Plymouth coupe is ready for your next summer cruise-in. ALL
VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
