Vehicle Description
Love at first sight is a legitimate phrase with cars. You can tell
a lot about a car at first glance. Things like model, overall
condition, color, stance, and something we'll call vibe. What is
the message the car is sending out? Just being a '55 Chevy, a car
demands a second look. And with this one, the closer you look, the
better it gets. The classic show & go street brawler vibe just
oozes from this machine. The 350 engine is built for power and
sound. You'll see the Holley Street Dominator (appropriate name!)
intake with an Edelbrock four-barrel and chrome air cleaner on top.
A look around the engine room reveals billet pulleys, chrome power
brake booster, chrome Bowtie valve covers, chrome alternator, and
an aluminum radiator. Check inside to see the wood rim Corvette
steering wheel, Hurst 4-speed shifter with the trademark white
ball, and whiteface instruments including a Sunpro column-mounted
tach (There's that street brawler vibe again.), and Dolphin gauges
neatly installed in the dash along with a tastefully upgraded
stereo system. The tan interior is very well executed and even
includes power bucket seats and a center console. The disc brake
conversion is another indication that the car was meant to be
driven, and it runs flawlessly. The final touch is the wheels.
They're easy to add, but can make or break the build. Bullseye!
They're American Torq Thrust wheels, in chrome no less. This
just-right '55 Chevy has all the good stuff, but it's one of those
cars that comes together to be more than the sum of its parts. An
inspection reveals that, a drive confirms it.
