Vehicle Description
This 1979 International Scout II comes with some serious off-road
cred and hot rod attitude. Peer under the iconic reverse opening
hood to see a beefed up small block replete with aluminum heads
(!), aluminum open-air intake, a big 4-barrel Quadrajet carb,
Hedman Hedders, and Competition Cams valve covers, all underneath
an Edelbrock air cleaner. As soon as you fire it up, you'll know
this healthy motor is ready for action. It's backed by a
floor-shifted automatic and 2-speed transfer case. The seating
includes tan leather buckets with armrests, and a full-width bench
in back. A padded roll bar provides protection for everyone on
board. Light green exterior paint with graphics package compliment
the tan canvas top and doors. The top and doors are completely
removable for off-roading or just some warm-weather fun. The truck
has a lifted stance with big Super Swamper tires on chrome steel
wheels that combine to give it a great off-road look. The diff
covers are chrome too. The front axle features Warn lockout hubs so
you can drive pretty much anywhere. As much offroad attitude as
this Scout II exhibits , you'll be amazed at the cleanliness and
condition of the undercarriage, and such niceties as a JBL sound
system. It also sports power steering and power front disc brakes
for driving ease and maneuverability. The International Scout was
certainly one of the pioneering vehicles in the rise to popularity
of the SUV, and this Scout II has all the ingredients for a recipe
of fun on or off the highway.
