Vehicle Description
Pickups are the largest selling vehicles in the American market;
and vintage pickups are totally hot on the collector scene as well.
This 1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne Super 10 smartly combines the best
attributes of both. The early '70's body style is more popular than
ever, and this Cheyenne is complimented by an orange and white
two-tone paint treatment. The distinctive aroma of rich leather
permeates the interior after Ron Mangus worked his magic. The dash
is a work of art. When you first get in everything seems normal. It
looks like a stock '71 dash. But turn the key, everything lights
up, and you realize these are thoroughly modern Dakota Digital
electronic gauges with the corresponding benefits in appearance and
accuracy. They really are sharp! Matching tan leather surrounds the
custom steering wheel, which itself is mounted on a tilt column.
Modern, upgraded audio equipment provides the tunes, and yes it's
air conditioned too. Who needs a new truck? In the performance
department, it scores highly with a 5.3L LS motor with aluminum
heads, upgraded intake, and cold air intake. It's super responsive,
sounds great, and it's pretty too. The polished pulleys and
accessories look like those found in the best street rods. Even the
power steering pump is a fabbed and polished work of art. 4-wheel
power disc brakes bring the truck right up to current standards,
and it's hard to top the looks of the five-spoke billet Intro
wheels with staggered 245 and 275 Bridgestone radials. Overall,
this truck presents a pleasing package of upgrades with tasteful
restraint that's easy to like, and easy to live with for a long
time.
