Vehicle Description
A red Vette with white coves is a classic. This one here is a great
looking example and features a rare automatic trans and both
tops.
EXTERIOR: It's a sharp looker. The paint and chrome is bright and
shiny. I'm doing my first walk around, the body seems to be in
excellent shape. I don't see any damage, the panels fit real well.
Upon a closer inspection I did find a few nicks and chips that have
been touched up. There is a slight color variation on the trunk and
hood that truthfully was not noticeable out in the sunlight. The
chrome and trim overall is bright and shiny. The stainless moldings
are straight. The bumpers are not new but they are bright.
Headlight bezels, handles, mirrors, front and rear medallions look
new. Windshield and gasket is new. Has white wall Goodyears,
hubcaps are shiny with original spinners. The white convertible top
is in really great shape. No rips or stains, plastic window is
clear. The frame is painted and has new weatherstrips and latches.
It also has hardtop painted to match.
INTERIOR: Looks good with a red interior. Overall very nice. Dash
pad is excellent. Carpet, door panels, seat covers are very good.
The factory gauges, handles knobs etc are not beat up or altered.
The cushions in the seats are a little worn. The radio was upgraded
with a Corvette stereo that fits right in the factory hole.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 283 was upgraded with a 1962 327. It is
dressed up to look stock. Has stock exhaust manifolds, Corvette
finned valve covers, ignition shielding, pie pan air cleaner etc.
The intake is upgraded with an aluminum Holley (painted orange) and
has new dual feed Summit carb with electric choke. The components
look proper. Clutch fan is new, has shroud and radiator looks in
good shape. Has original generator with cable driven
tachometer.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a clean trunk compartment. Fiberglass is
not beat up. Has real nice rubber mat. Underneath the plywood
divider there is a white wall spare on a rim.
UNDERSIDE: Original, undamaged condition. The raw fiberglass floors
don't have any damage or repairs that I could see. Frame is rock
solid, even the far rear section that is known to rust. All the
components are intact, even the e-brake cables and the axle straps.
It has a correct Powerglide auto trans. The trans and bottom of
motor are clean, new fuel pump.
This is a shiny, straight car that is not cobbled up. I have sold
these in far worse shape for $50,000. High end customs now sell for
250-300 thousand $. They will pay $50,000 for a solid car to start
with. Whether you are looking to build a custom or want a really
sharp looking classic Vette to cruise, this car is well worth the
money!
