To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Paris event, 6 February
2019.
Estimate:
€70.000 - €85.000
- Offered from the Youngtimer Collection
- Under 17,000 km from new
- Eye-catching Polar Silver over a purple leather interior
Envisioned originally to replace the 911, the 928 heralded a
paradigm shift for Porsche, as top brass sought to introduce a
luxurious flagship that emphasized long-distance refinement. With a
front-engined V-8 at its heart, the 928 boasted a 50/50 weight
distribution, making for excellent handling. In the early '90s the
GTS was announced as production came to a close and boasted a new
5.4-litre engine producing 345 bhp and benefitted from larger
brakes and updated styling.
Delivered new to Spain in October of 1992, this particular 928 GTS
is finished in Polar Silver metallic over and deep purple leather
interior and is equipped with heated seats, sport shocks, air
conditioning, sunroof, and a five-speed manual transmission.
According to documentation accompanying the car, it was registered
in Barcelona in 1995 and remained in Spain through early 2017,
before being purchased by the current owner. Today, the car
presents in wonderful condition throughout, having travelled just
less than 17,000 km from new.
An enthusiast favourite for years that is steadily gaining
appreciation from collectors, low-mileage 928s of any variety are
difficult to find, and this example should not be overlooked. To
