To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Paris
event, 6 February 2019.
Estimate:
€100.000 - €130.000
- Recent service by Charles Pozzi
- Delivered new to the Netherlands
- Fitted with the desirable manual gearbox
The Ferrari F355 is rightly considered to be one of the finest
Ferraris of the modern era; featuring 380 bhp from the Formula
1-derived five-valves-per-cylinder V-8, a superbly precise chassis
and a stunningly pretty, yet aerodynamic, Pininfarina-designed
body. Another F1-inspired feature debuted that year: Ferrari's new
F1-style paddle-shifted gearbox, a feature that would quickly
become a mainstay for the marque, yet this example retains the now
sought-after traditional manual gearbox.
This particular F355 Spider is finished in stunning Blu Swaters
paintwork and dark blue roof and tonneau. Although factory records
note Rosso as the original interior colour, the interior is
presently trimmed in beige with Blu carpets. Its first owner took
delivery in April 1996 in the Netherlands and remained there until
at least 1998. Shortly thereafter, it was taken to France and its
service book shows stamps from French dealers in 2001, 2004, 2005
and 2008. It presents in fine condition, having covered 48,000 km
and benefits from a recent service at Charles Pozzi.
The Ferrari F355 is the iconic link between the classic small
displacement V-8 Ferraris of the past and the more recent 200-mph
supercars. This example would make a fine addition to any
stable.
