horsepower. Boosting these numbers is an upgraded cam and headers.
Other features of this beauty inlcude new front disc brakes; dual
master cylinder, upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, coil and
leaf springs, heater core, aluminum radiator, wheels, and tires.
The Fairlane is an impressive mix of style and class. Please call
or email us today for more information.
The fourth generation Ford Fairlane was introduced in 1962. It
bridged the gap between the compact Ford Falcon and the full-sized
Galaxie. Like both the Galaxie and falcon, the Fairlane had a
unibody frame but incorporated an unusual feature called torque
boxes. These structures were designed to absorb road shock by
moving slightly in the vertical plane. the standard engine was the
170 CID (2.8 L) six-cylinder. But as an option, Ford introduced its
new Windsor V8, initially with a displacement of 221 CID (3.6 L).
Eventually, in 1963 Ford upgraded the performance by offering the
Challenger 289 CID engine.
Any way you cut it, the Fairlane is an incredible machine and a
valuable piece of American automotive history.
