The Porsche 911 Turbo has always been among the world’s fastest and most desirable cars, keeping it near the top of the automotive food chain for over 40 years. This 2002 model more than lives up to this heritage. With its all-wheel drive platform, upgraded engine (600+ hp), and Tiptronic 5-speed transmission (built to handle 1,000 hp), this Porsche is incredibly fast and does not disappoint.
This car has had a clean accident-free life primarily in the southwest. With 76k miles it has been well cared for with lots of recent work. It looks fantastic with its silver exterior and black accents on the unmistakable Turbo wide body (the motorized rear spoiler is not to be missed either). The car has been lowered with H&R springs (originals are included) for improved handling and a very sleek look. The headlight lenses have been professionally reconditioned and are perfectly clear. And the factory Turbo wheels are in excellent condition as are the Sumitomo HTR Z3 tires. An extra set of black alloy wheels is also included.
As mentioned, this car has a number of engine upgrades over the factory setup. Highlights include twin K16 turbochargers with Agency Power high flow racing intercoolers, race plenum, racing diverter valves, larger injectors, and a high flow exhaust. It was tuned by Markski Tuning and includes the handheld tuner along with a Durametric service tool tied to the VIN. Additional work includes welded coolant lines, a new water pump, and new spark plugs with 997 coil packs. And finally the transmission was completely rebuilt by Vivid Racing to handle the increase in power.
All this additional power is very useable with Porsche’s advanced AWD setup. With power available to all four wheels, it has superior acceleration and handling over other cars. It is an absolute rocket when you get on it but also has magnificent disc brakes with 13” rotors in front. Throw in the Tiptronic transmission with steering wheel controls and you have an exhilarating driving experience.
The interior of this car is both luxurious and sporty, done in attractive leather with carbon fiber accents. The heated leather power seats are a perfect blend of comfort for the highway and support for cornering. There are loads of standard features on the 911 Turbo, including driver memory, power sunroof, and the excellent 12-speaker Bose digital audio system. This example also has Porsche’s in-dash navigation system with remote 10-disc CD changer. Much of the carbon fiber interior trim has been replaced due to cracking on the original factory pieces. The steering wheel was also replaced with a custom piece with a flat bottom and proper paddle shifters (the original is also included). All manuals are present as well.
There aren’t many cars like the 911 Turbo. It can do it all and do it well, though with a list price of $120k and another $30k in upgrades you’d expect as much. But for a fraction of this price, you can own and experience a tremendous example of one of the world’s greatest sports cars.
