2004 Ford Explorer in disguise! A 1950 Ford truck body was cleverly
fitted to a factory stock Explorer chassis and running gear. Enjoy
the comfort and reliability of a modern vehicle with the style and
nostalgia of a classic. Built by a professional street rod builder
in Ohio. The donor Explorer had only 23,000 actual miles, about
15,000 miles have been put on since built. So it's like you are
buying a 38,000 mile Explorer with custom body.
EXTERIOR: It has a real 1950 metal body with fiberglass fenders.
Professional body and paint work. Has a beautiful 2005 Escalade
pearl white with a golden hue that matches the interior
beautifully. Custom hand pinstriped. All of the chrome and
stainless trim is new including bumpers, grill etc. All new tinted
glass. All new weatherstrips and gaskets. Custom 17 inch American
Racing wheels with Bridgestone tires. The running boards have
wooden slats and aluminum step plates. LED taillights including a
third brake light and reverse lights that were flush mounted.
Custom gas door was installed in the fender. It has a great tonneau
cover. It's metal, painted to match and water tight! To make it
even cooler, it's power operated. It really has a unique, classy
look. Great stance too.
INTERIOR: Very tastefully done interior. The factory Explorer dash
was custom fitted into the cab. The instruments, steering wheel,
stereo etc are all factory 2004 Ford. The a/c controls are Vintage
Air. Very soft leather like upholstery was used on the seat, door
panels and headliner. Custom molded door panels, back of seat folds
forward and has sewn pocket. Carpet is short loop with sewn edges
and matching mats. Features include cruise control, power windows,
tilt leather wrapped wheel, a/c and more.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's all Ford Explorer just as it left the
factory. The wiring, pulleys etc. Service right at Ford dealer. The
heart is a V-6 4.0L SOHC fuel injected motor that runs smooth and
reliable all day long. The motor compartment is very clean and
proper looking.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is very usable. It seals
watertight, the tailgate latches are inside so your belongings are
secure under the power lid. The bed is smooth painted metal, the
floor is refinished wood planks, the hardware is stainless. It even
has a cut and sewn carpet floor protector.
UNDERSIDE: Wow, it is the same as looking under an '04 Explorer
that just rolled out of the factory right down to the part
stickers. The entire floor, structure, steering, suspension are
stock. Has rack & pinion power steering, 4 wheel power disc brakes,
4 wheel independent suspension, 5 speed with overdrive automatic
trans. The exhaust has some custom tweaking- Flowmaster muffler
with dual tailpipes. And look how clean it is, the bottom looks
nearly new!
