Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Tribute is a great looking first
generation muscle car that's decked out in an outstanding color and
wears the proper exterior features of the top tier specimens of the
model during its time. It's also carrying a rumbling big block
engine with plenty of power under the hood whose sheer displacement
stands above anything offered during this classic's era.
The Marina Blue paint this Camaro now wears is a more vibrant take
on its original shade and really looks nice in this setting. It's
got a very smooth finish, with plenty of shine and as you circle
the car you can see the care that not only went into bringing out
its best, but also to properly pay homage to the prized Super
Sport/Rally Sport-equipped Camaros that topped the model's status
hierarchy in this era. The pair of broad white stripes running over
the hood and deck lid really pop against their background, while up
front the grille is in great condition and sports a central feature
that prompted many a buyer to opt for the RS package back in the
day - hidden headlights that not only sit properly aligned, but
have been equipped with new electronics, so they open and close
with precision. This '67 obviously benefitted from an exacting
restoration, and you can see its door handles, mirrors, bumpers and
badging all appear to have been recently replaced and the body
lines from front to back and side to side are top notch.
In the same vein, a deluxe black vinyl interior now sits in place
of the original. The restoration work inside the doors included not
only the nicely accented front buckets and rear bench seat but also
the door panels, headliner, carpeting, and steering wheel, all of
which are at their best. The dash area is another strong feature,
with a supple looking dash pad on top. The center console is
nonetheless in great condition and offers a white-balled Hurst
shifter - some welcome additional vintage style. Everything is also
very solid as far as the trunk area is concerned - with no liner in
place, you can get a clear view of the trunk floor, wheelhouses and
inner fenders and all appear in fine condition.
Ably representing the sentiment that "there's no replacement for
displacement" a 454 cubic inch V8 sits between the shock towers,
armed with a Weiand intake manifold, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and
an HEI ignition to extract plenty of output from its considerable
size. It pairs with a 4-speed manual transmission that puts maximum
control of all that power in the driver's hands while shifting very
solidly. There are a number of recently replaced components also on
board, including an aluminum radiator, master cylinder and brake
booster, dual exhaust and a fresh suspension that affords a nice,
straight-tracking ride on a set of ultra sharp 15" repro Camaro
Rally wheels that are wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials. Both
the featured power steering and power brakes are in top form, so
this vintage Chevy navigates and stops easily. Below, the
undercarriage is solid and straight.
With its big block power, precisely outfitted appearance and
outstanding muscle car charisma, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS
Tribute is a great find. Call today!
