Vehicle Description
This 1976 Chevrolet Blazer offers a great mix of vintage SUV appeal
and nicely executed customization. It's sure to turn heads with its
nice, vibrant color and fresh appearance and has obviously been
well-maintained over the years. It's also a California truck so
it's a very solid ride and the strong running condition provides a
comfortable driving experience.
With its ultra sharp Pearl Orange color and aggressive, lowered
stance this classic SUV isn't likely to get lost in a crowd anytime
soon, but its appeal goes well beyond sheer visual impact. There's
plenty of workmanship on display here as well - plenty of prep work
went in before the first pull on the trigger of the spray gun so
the paint has a nice smooth texture and a great, wet-looking shine
and the modified stance was performed with some careful planning,
so it's nice and balanced. Everything looks well-fitted too - the
body alignment appears precise, with tight uniform gaps between
panels, the rectangular tips of the side exhausts peek out just the
right amount and the contrasting white shell lines up really nicely
with the bed below it. From the front grille on back to the
signature chrome panel on the liftgate with its Chevrolet badging
displayed with a near 3-D effect, the exterior fittings are in
great shape.
This classic Blazer features a very comfortable interior, with a
pair of plushly padded gray cloth bucket seats at its center that
straddle a spacious center console and fresh-looking black
carpeting below. There's a nice attention to detail displayed - the
woodgrain accents on the door panels appear to be freshly applied,
as does the matching panel on the instrument cluster, which itself
houses an array of factory gauges that all work as intended and are
joined by a white-faced factory tach below the tilt column. It's a
very nice vantage point from which to navigate this classic. The
factory air conditioning has been converted to modern refrigerant
and blows strong and cold and a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with iPod and
Bluetooth connectivity has been seamlessly installed and teams with
speakers very nicely placed throughout the cabin and rear storage
area to create a quality audio experience while on the road. You
can get even more perspective as to the quality of this restoration
when you step around to the back and see how well fitted the
contrasting carpeting is as it covers the floor and rear wheel
wells.
The driving experience this vintage Chevy offers is impressive.
There's a 350 cubic inch V8 standing by in the engine compartment
that still wears its factory 4-barrel carb over an Edelbrock intake
and it starts up very easily and sends a nice, throaty exhaust note
out those side exits as it teams with the 3-speed automatic
transmission just behind it. The ride is nice and tight, without
too much rebound over uneven road, and the tracking is reassuringly
straight. Power steering makes navigating this classic nice and
easy in everyday driving conditions, while power brakes that
feature discs up front bring dependable, low-effort stops. Sure to
draw plenty of admiring glances, this sharp looking SUV rides on a
set of 17" Eagle Alloy wheels wrapped with Hankook tires. Below,
the undercarriage looks solid and straight.
This 1976 Chevrolet Blazer shows plenty of skilled workmanship both
