For Sale at Auction: 2002 BMW Z8 in Allen, Texas

Vehicle Description

2002 BMW Z8

One of 331 out of 5703 produced worldwide.

Less than 20,000 miles.

The Z8 was produced from 2000 to 2003.The Z8 was originally designed as a styling exercise intended to evoke and celebrate the 1956–1959 BMW 507.

This is one of those kind. Low miles and totally original. As you can see in the photos, the black paint is as reflective as it was the day it came off the assembly line.

The interior in this vehicle is immaculate and the undercarriage looks like new. Everything works and you can drive it anywhere. The engine compartment is as clean as the exterior and it is dry all over. Maintenance and other information available upon request, by a certified dealer.

In the May 2000 issue of Car & Driver, they said “Neither were we surprised by its striking styling. Based on the Z07 concept car that BMW revealed to the world at the 1997 Tokyo motor show, the Z8 is intended to evoke the famous 507 roadster with that car’s characteristic twin-nostril grille and uniquely shaped front-fender vents. The only question was how closely the production car’s styling would hew to the concept. As the photos demonstrate here, BMW did not stray far from the sensuously sculpted shape that stole the Tokyo show almost three years ago. Even the design of the alloy wheels is virtually identical.”

“In truth, the Z8’s visual charisma is so powerful that just sitting in this car with the engine off is more fun than driving many other cars. Then when you press the starter button — set apart, also a tribute to the past–another entire level of excitement begins.”

If you are looking for a fun car and an investment that is sure to increase in value, the Z8 is your car. Rick Duncan, President of Duncan’s Auctions said “I have been looking at several cars to have some fun with, Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and others. I had never driven a Z8, but when I sat in this BMW Z8, I knew this was it. These cars handle like a true sports cars and the dash and interior wrap around you with the aura of an old classic and a retro look that makes you feel as if you’re driving a car with the latest technology as far as engine, braking, suspension and steering, but the feel of the past. I’m sold! The BMW Z8 will be my next car for fun and the collection.”

The Z8 was designed by Henrik Fisker, an iconic luxury car designer, who was the primary designer of the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. Fisker is known as one of the greatest car designers of all time. When designing the Z8, he said it was his goal to create a masterpiece that mimicked the evolution of the BMW 507, produced from 1956-59, and he didn’t disappoint.

In 2016, at a press conference celebrating BMW’s 100th anniversary, BMW CEO Harald Krueger named the Z8 as one of his three favorite BMW models in the history of the company.

There are very few iconic cars that have become what is called in the industry “High-End” soon to be classics. The BMW Z8 is one of those cars. The BMW Z8 is only one of a select few that have continually appreciated annually and continue to do so.
