Vehicle Description
1960 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster
For consignment a very correctly restored 1960 Corvette. An older
restoration done very well, that has an OEM automatic transmission
currently installed by the consigner, so his wife could drive the
car. Turns out she did not particularly enjoy driving it, so the
original numbers matching 4-speed manual is in a crate and will be
included with the sale of this car. This car has earned 2 Top
Flight awards, a Duntov Award and numerous ribbons etc. Please see
trunk photos for awards, and extra photos are included for the
actual scoring.
Exterior
Ermine White respray several years ago, presents very nicely. A
matching white hardtop is currently on the car; however, the
original canvas convertible top is on this car, and works
flawlessly. Stainless trim, and brite work, as well as chrome on
bumpers is near flawless. All lighting is clear and working as from
the showroom floor. Chevrolet knockoff hubs, and Corvette hubcaps
are wrapped by wide white sidewall tires to match originals and are
seen on all 4 corners.
Interior
Absolutely stunning and flawless RED interior screams for you to
climb inside and go for a ride. This beautiful red is also on the
door panels, although they have a wonderful section of machined
stainless that swoops from front of the door to the back and
cradles the armrest/door pull. The dash which is the most
beautifully designed aspect of this car has all necessary gauges
with black fields and white lettering, surrounded by chromed
bezels, and embedded into deep circles that are topped by a
semicircular speedometer. All this is fronted by a 3 spoke machined
big steering wheel in drilled metal and red plastic. The top of the
dash is a combination of metal and some padded vinyl which has the
same swooping effect as the door panels. In its way to the center
console, a Wonderbar original radio is noted. Flooding the floor is
gorgeous red thick pile carpeting with nary a mark.
Drivetrain
Currently the original 283ci-270hp V8 is attached to an OEM 3-speed
automatic is installed in this car. As mentioned, the original
numbers matching 4-speed manual is in a crate and will ship with
this car to the buyer.
Undercarriage
It is difficult to find dust let alone any evidence of surface rust
on the underside off this car. A posi-trac rear end is seen, and
otherwise clean black metal is noted all over.
The recipient of an older restoration, that still looks, runs, and
drives like you just finished the deal and are driving from the
showroom. A 2-time top flight, 1-time Duntov award winner, along
with various ribbons, documentation, original keys, owner's manual,
Wonderbar radio manual, and other plaques and awards are included
with this beautifully designed and presented car.
