Vehicle Description
The 1956 Ford F-100 is one of the best trucks around to turn into a
hot rod. And as you take a closer look at this big block V8 custom,
you'll realize it's the cream of the crop.
There's no denying that the mid-50s Ford pickups had some serious
style to go with its workman attitude. The curvy bodywork has a
classic old pickup look that also manages to be sporty at the same
time. For example, 1956 was the debut for the wraparound
windshield. It gave the cab a hint of aggressive forward-leaning
stance, and that's enhanced on this one with flashy Boyds alloys
that are larger in the rear. This one had a serious investment from
top to bottom that resulted in a near laser-straight truck. It was
then dipped in a red so tasty that you'll swear it was candy. In
fact, the paint has so much radiance that they were able to
eliminate some of the traditional brightwork (like the bumpers and
some trim) to give this a clean and distinct look. But this one
never loses its best vintage features. Everything from the Ford
badge up front, to the step plates in the running boards, to the
glossy real wood in the truck bed reminds you that the best customs
still embrace their classic attitude.
The custom investments continues inside. The dash and door tops
have the same slick exterior red for a great uniform presentation
inside and out. It's now joined by a tasteful tan on the door
inserts, carpeting, and headliner. And the best place you'll love
this tan is on the seats. Gone is the '50s-style flat bench and
it's replaced with a comfy unit with individual bolstering and
comfy cloth inserts for where you sit. There's even a fold-down
armrest for a true individual experience. You'll love slipping
behind the artful wood and chrome steering wheel mounted on a
color-matched tilt column. The Lokar shifter is a great place to
rest you hand, and the Dolphin gauges have a classic look while
offering all the right info. This is a very thoughtful build.
The hood tilts forward for everyone to get a good view at the
motor, and so they made sure it was dressed to impress. Ford's 429
cubic-inch V8 looks great sitting in the smooth red walls. And the
etched air topper and Ford Racing valve covers add both
intimidation and flair. This big block is already known to be a
terrific powerhouse, and that's before you know about features like
the Holley four-barrel carburetor, Weiand Stealth intake, and
Champion aluminum radiator. The V8 roars to life as it sings a
performance tune from the dual side exhaust tips. But more than
just powerful, this one delivers an all-around enjoyable driving
experience thanks to the upgraded independent front suspension,
front disc brakes, and the grip of modern performance tires.
