Vehicle Description
This unique, purpose-built 1971 Duster was conceived to continue
the nostalgic look of the Duster both on the street and the strip.
This three-owner car started its life as a 6-cylinder, original CY3
Curious Yellow Duster, and when it's third owner acquired it, it's
transformation began. The drivetrain is a 5.9-liter Magnum 360
engine that has been stroked to its 408 configuration. Ross Racing
pistons, a COMP camp, Edelbrock RPM aluminum heads and intake
manifold, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor and a 750 Holley carburetor
top off the engine. An aluminum radiator along with dual electric
fans keep it cool. The 727 transmission has been upgraded with a
manual valve body and a turbo-action reverse pattern shifter. The
rear end has been narrowed with a 391 posi-traction unit and Yukon
heavy-duty axels with 10" Cragar SS wheels and Mickey Thompson
tires. In the front it features Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes,
flat-6 torsion bars for weight transfer during acceleration and 6"
Cragar SS wheels. A 4-point roll bar, Sparco racing seats and
Schroth 4-point seatbelts top of the safety features inside, and a
Rocky Mountain aluminum dash displays AutoMeter gauges. The AAR Six
Pack fiberglass hood and custom AAR stripe package finish the look
of this custom Duster. 4,625 miles since completion and comes with
a log of destinations since restoration. Also the original owners
manual will accompany the car.
