1971 Datsun 240Z was Built in November 1970. True SERIES 1.
HISTORY OF THE CAR:
Originally purchased by Pete Redfern the #1 draft pick out of USC to the Minnesota Twins. Major League Baseball pitcher. He had seven season career in the majors, from 1976-1982, all with the Minnesota Twins. In October 1983, Redfern was paralyzed in an ocean diving accident in Newport Beach, California, which ended his playing career. The car sat garaged for approx 5 years. Then he sold it to his best friend Gerry Brown, his catcher from Sylmar High, and I bought it from him. We all attended Sylmar High School, California.
It currently has a 26R out of a 260z motor in it with a 5 speed transmission. I have the original numbers matching block and 4 speed transmission as well as the 26r head that comes with the sale of the car.
It has 98,364 miles on the odometer. The rebuilt engine was put in 1994 with 76,000 miles on the frame when engine was changed. This is a rust free car with solid floor pans. Great condition and has been very well maintained and it shows!
Over 5k recently invested in upgrades. Mechanically strong. Dependable daily driver. Straight body with nice orange paint. The interior is like new through out I also have the original owner manual. More pics upon request. I am selling because I work 60+ hours a week and travel out of town regularly. I have not time to enjoy and drive. She's a beauty!
The interior looks like new, the dash has a "dash carpet" on it but is in good condition underneath.
She runs and drives great and gets lots of looks on the road. A true Classic! Reduced from $28,500.00!
