known as the Standard of the World, the year the United States put
men on the moon and the world stood on the precipice of the 1970s,
MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1969 Cadillac
Coupe de Ville Convertible. This is one of 16,445 Coupe de Ville
Convertibles made in 1969. Manufactured at General Motors' Detroit,
Michigan facility during the second week of June 1969. Currently
dressed in black, the car's print and trim are in overall very good
order, its bodywork is straight and solid, the car's chrome bumpers
are in very good order and the engine bay is tidy. This Coupe de
Ville wears Goodyear Arriva whitewall tires, size P235/75R15 at all
four corners. Each tire is mounted on a steel wheel topped by a
factory wheel cover. The tires and wheel covers are all in
satisfactory order. Under the hood is Cadillac's 472 CID V-8
engine, backed by a Turbo Hydramatic 400 three-speed automatic
transmission and a 2.94:1 rear end. Driver convenience features
include air-conditioning, power steering, power brakes, two-way
power front seats, power windows and power locks. The AC/heat are
inoperable most likely due to a faulty switch. Inside, the black
interior (code 351) is in overall satisfactory order. The black,
two-way power front, split-bench seat with fold-down center armrest
shows some minor blemishes but is in overall decent order. The
corresponding black carpet is in similar order. A factory,
three-speed steering wheel faces the driver while the instrument
panel and inner door panels are all in good shape. A JVC AM/FM
stereo with aftermarket speakers complete the interior. In 1969
DeVille was restyled in the Eldorado image. An Eldorado-like front
fender treatment evolved and helped to emphasize a stronger
horizontal design line. Rear quarters were extended to give the car
a longer look. There was an all-new grille with dual horizontal
headlamps positioned in the outboard step-down areas of the grille.
The hood was again extended, a total of 2.5 inches to add the
impression of extra length. The roofline was squarer and the rear
deck and bumper more sculptured. A new ventilation system
eliminated the need for vent windows, which provided a longer
sleeker look and improved visibility. New standard features
included front and rear (except on convertibles) center seat
armrests. Competition to this Cadillac in 1969 included Buick's
Electra 225 and Wildcat Custom Convertibles, Chrysler's 300 and
Newport convertibles, Mercedes-Benz's 280 SL Convertible, Mercury's
Marquis Convertible and Oldsmobile's 98 Convertible. Cadillac and
convertible connoisseurs should make a point to visit MotoeXotica
Classic Cars to check out this late '60s droptop from the Standard
of the World. VIN: F9219585 This car is currently located at our
