This 1979 Jeep CJ7 is a rare find. It came out of Arizona and
Southern California, it has 98% of its original paint (the 2 %
repainted is where they installed tire carrier), 2 Owners (Owner 1
Built and towed behind motorhome/ Owner 2 bought in 2004 and used
it sparingly). 2nd Owner has put only about 1,000 miles on it. This
Jeep shows 32,400 miles, and the Odometer has rolled over, but many
of those miles were tow behind motorhome miles. This jeep was built
to last and has many very cool and very nice touches. It was built
in the 80's and built to explore and more importantly built to get
you home. The body on this Jeep is original and amazing. Of course
it is all metal, and all original metal. There is no evidence of
any rot or rusting out and the underside is really really clean.
The paint still looks great and has good luster with only some
minor Patina as it was stored indoors most of the time. Some of the
cool exterior options are a swing out tire carrier that includes a
4 wheel drive hub attached incase one happened to break out in the
wilderness. Also has a cooler carrier and the tow bar is still
hooked up (easily removeable). You will also see a warn winch. Soft
Top is in good shape too!! The Interior is in great shape with nice
factory seats, Roll Cage, CB, auxiliary fuel tank, onboard air,
extra lights, and extra toggle switches to add your own touch.
The heart of this rig is a mildly built and very desirable 401 V8.
This Jeep originally came with a 304V8, but the original owner put
the 401 V8 in when he built it. It has roughly 10,000 miles on the
build based on what we have been told and it has a mild cam,
edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock Carb, new exhaust, and it
still has all of the smog equipment installed. Last owner stated it
passed smog at last inspection. Transmission is a Turbo 400
Automatic and this has the Quadratec Transfer Case, with low range,
which works great and was converted to part time. It has the Warn
Premium Lockouts, Posi Rear End with Locker, and the first owner
stated the axles wereb eefed up with an aftermarket brand. Power
Steering and Power Front Disc Brakes.
This Jeep is a gas to drive and has excellent power. All lights
blinkers, wipers ,gauges are working and it flies down the road. If
you are looking for a cool vintage Jeep this is the one. We hand
pick each vehicle, drive it, inspect it, and make sure it is ready
for you to enjoy! We drive what we sell so that we can give you a
first hand and accurate report on how the vehicle runs and
drives.
