1973 Pontiac Trans-Am "Super Duty"
An opportunity to own one of the rarest Pontiacs and most exclusive muscle cars ever made. The Super Duty Trans-Am isn't merely a collector's trophy—it's a bona fide legend and a benchmark in American high-performance history. Only 252 1973 Super Duty Trans-Ams were made; likely fewer than 50 remain.
This all-original, numbers-matching 1973 Super Duty Trans-Am is private collector owned for 30 years and restored with all OEM parts. Engine, transmission, and VIN match. Original 800CFM Rochester carb, manifold, distributor, and differential. PHS documentation and window sticker. No modifications.
Factory-optioned with automatic transmission, A/C, PS, PB, AM/FM Delco radio (with Pioneer internals added), "air cushion" deluxe interior, and factory console option. The large "screaming eagle" hood bird, restored original factory "fat" 1973 steering wheel and honeycomb wheels.
Unique to the Super Duty model is the hand-assembled 4-bolt main engine block with forged aluminum pistons by TRW and forged connecting rods. Pontiac included provisions for dry sump oiling and a baffled oil pan to round out the package for racing. The SD cylinder heads are of round port Ram-Air IV design, with special round port exhaust manifolds and a unique intake manifold.
