This 1986 Monte Carlo SS is a great example of a Gen4 Monte Carlo.
Careful thought was put into the partial restoration that included
substantial mechanical upgrades - the builder of this Monte Carlo
knows Chevrolets. Only 55 miles have been added since the
restoration was completed. The body was refinished in White with a
fiberglass hood, subtle stripping and smoked glass T-tops (with
covers). BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on Billet Specialties
alloy wheels give the Monte Carlo an old-school stance and SS
visual accents, front and rear, strongly impact the overall
appearance. The comfortable interior is original grey cloth with
reclining bucket seats. Our classic Monte Carlo is equipped with
air conditioning, AM/FM/CD stereo, power tinted windows and tilt
wheel. The SS option adds a center console and floor mounted
shifter. Factory instrumentation has been replaced with a package
of iEquuss Performance 'White Series' gauges - a professional
installation. Horsepower is now delivered by a built 355ci 4-bolt
small-block with ported/polished double-hump heads. It is fitted
with a mild Comp cam/lifters, roller-rockers, Holley 650
double-pumper, MSD distributor and Hedman headers to a free flow
exhaust. The motor is also fitted with a 150HP NOS system, but has
never been sprayed. Other engine components replaced include the
alternator, water pump, fuel pump and all belts/hoses. Compression
is a conservative 10.0:1 so it runs nicely on pump gas. The 'Mighty
Mouse' is backed by Turbo 350 Stage II 3-speed automatic w/cooler
and 2,800 stall converter. A GM 10-bolt rear with 8-1/2" ring gear
drives Moser Engineering axles and an Eaton Detroit Locker
differential with 4.10:1 gears. Power-assisted front discs and rear
drums provide plenty of stopping power. The suspension has been
upgraded with performance springs, shocks, sway bars and trailing
arms. This nicely detailed Monte Carlo SS is ready for the
boulevard, or the strip. The owner has carefully built this Chevy
and that effort is going to make its new owner very proud. ALL
VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
