For Sale at Auction: 1992 Porsche 911 RS in Scottsdale, Arizona
This matching-numbers 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is one of 1,910
lightweights produced by the factory, not to be confused by the RS
America. It's powered by its original 3.6-liter flat-6 engine that
produces 260hp and 240 ft/lbs of torque. This vehicle was delivered
new in Japan, as many of the factory RS versions were. Now 25 years
old, it is compliant in the United States and is an example of the
first RS cars to be built since the original 1973 911 Carrera RS.
The engine carefully incorporates matched pistons and cylinders,
Bosch electronic engine management and sequential fuel injection.
Power is delivered via a single-mass sport flywheel to a G50/10
5-speed manual transmission with steel synchronizer rings, altered
shift sleeves and taller first and second gears. The suspension
offers a ride height reduced by 1-1/2" with stiffer McPherson
struts, alloy transverse control arms and coilover shock absorbers
in the front and rear. Anti-roll bars at both ends are adjustable.
This lightweight is finished in its original color Rubystone Red
with a black RS exterior trim, a black leatherette interior with
tri-color pink and black leather-covered bucket seats. With
lightweight in mind, Porsche equipped all of the RS versions with
lightweight door cards with RS door pulls and lightweight glass and
manual window lifts. It has 30,380 actual kilometers (mileage not
indicated on the title).
