Collector car with 61k miles. Number 626 of 3333 built, 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Signature Edition Intimidator.
Just clicked 61,000 miles on this well preserved and maintained example of the Dale Earnhardt Sr. Monte Carlo SS that GM released shortly after the NASCAR legend died in one of the deadliest crashes in racing history.
If you're looking at this ad, chances are you know what you're looking for. It is a mean looking car and fun to drive with lots of looks. Not a super fast car, but quick enough to be respectable. Ran a quarter mile on a back country road at 15.10 at 86 mph, and 0 to 60 in 7.5 seconds. See attached screenshots from a timing app.
Currently it's completely stock with the exception of a new exhaust resonator, a K&N OE style air filter upgrade and new Goodyear winter tires. This car is just a plain stock car. I don't even think its ever been detailed, armor all, etc. Just washes, spray wax and wiping down with damp microfibers. Not a restoration or repaint . It did have some warranty repair done on the hood, that needs to be redone as after all these years the spot they fixed came loose in the freezing weather. The right quarter panel and rear bumper had professional body repairs a couple of years ago. It was involved in collision that dented the quarter panel and broke the rear bumper. That's been replaced and the sheet metal is straightened. That collision was reported to Carfax when it was in the original owners possession. Until I can get the data corrected it currently indicates total loss, but all damage has been repaired. Over got a clean original Illinois title and I carry full coverage insurance on it. Its NOT a salvage or rebuilt car. Other than that, all I've done is run premium gas, it had engine oil changed with synthetic and a bottle of Chevron fuel conditioner in the fuel tank run through.
Overall its in very good condition. Original paint and pretty much everything else. The valve cover spark plug wires were done under the massive recall GM had. There's a very small area of surface rust on the left quarter wheel lip and at the lower rear bottom of the fenders, not rusted through, you can't see in photos but is visible on closer inspection. The grille is a stick on GM Tony Stewart accessory the original owner installed. The original bumper looks OE underneath and it can be easily removed.
Comes complete with front license plate cover, original exclusive floor mats, (still new never used), owners manual, certificate of authenticity, maintenance records since new, factory brochure, car cover and a bra. I also have a repair manual still in the wrapping.
I'm the second owner and recently acquired it with 58000 miles, and its currently my daily driver. Interested in quick sale, as I need the extra money for closing on a new home.
Will also consider trade and cash, let me know what you have.
Thanks for looking!
