Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #2- Overall (Near Flawless Driver Exterior w/Excellent Driver Mechanicals)
Here is an absolutely beautiful 1957 Cadillac Sedan Deville. This car started off as a solid, rust free California car. The gentleman we got the car from had it restored over a couple year period, hours of sweat, lots of love and tens of thousands of dollars. The result was this gorgeous '57 Cadillac you see here. It has an absolutely show quality cosmetic restoration with flawless paint and show quality paint. The interior was completely all redone using the correct OEM material with attention to detail. It is powered by its original 365ci V8 with rare factory air conditioning. This is a great running and driving car that has looks that just don't quit. It would be a for sure show stopper at any show and a car that anyone would be happy to own and show off. We gave the car a two minus rating, because the exterior and interior is truly near flawless. Everything you see with your eyes walking up to the vehicle, are virtually impossible to pick apart and the quality of the restoration shows. Under the hood is clean but not as detailed as the exterior, the underside is dry and rust free but just not detailed out. Mechanically, the car is in great shape, runs and drives great, but could use a few things repaired yet and be perfect. All these facts came involved to our overall rating but never the less this is an amazing car with a quality restoration. You could never restore this car to its current condition without spending countless hours, a significant amount of money, a lot more money then we are even asking for the car. And that is not even factoring in the cost and time to find a nice, rust free '57 Cadillac Sedan Deville with factory air to even start with. Anyone that purchases this Caddy will be the smart one and will be able to enjoy it right away!!
Options/Equipment:
Exterior: *Condition #2
This car is in amazing condition on the exterior. It truly looks like a show car with amazing quality and attention to detail. The restoration was done with in the last year or so. It received a high quality paint finish done in it original color of Alpine White. In a base coat, clear coat paint that was hand rubbed to a smooth as glass finish. The body is straight as an arrow with excellent fit and finish. You can just see they started with a nice solid car. All of the chrome and trim was redone to a show quality finish and all shines like a diamond. The vent window chrome looks to be nice original and there is a small scrape on the left rear quarter trim piece. All of the glass is in great shape and crystal clear. It has beautiful gold anodized trim accents and emblems and the grill condition is amazing. It is sitting on its original wheels, restored highly polished hubcaps and new Coker wide white wall tires. All of the lenses look to be new also. It is a real looker!
Interior: *Condition #2-
The interior was completely all redone using all OEM material and looks beautiful. It was done in its original colors of light gray Sahara pattern cloth with white leather. Everything from the seats to the door panels, carpet and headliner were all done with love and correctly. The dash and gauge cluster is very bright and clean. It looks like they replated most all of the interior chrome. The steering wheel looks like a beautiful original with a mint horn ring. On the right dash ashtray, the plastic piece that says "lighter" is missing. Inside the glove box is very clean. In all the door jams, it is beautifully detailed with all new weather stripping. The doorsills were gold anodized for a very unique look. All the gauges appear to work great and the temp gauge was moved to an aftermarket gauge for a better reading. The radio turns on and appears to work but the power antenna does not work. All the courtesy lights work except for the ones in the roof. The heater blower motor does not work. The power windows all work great and the power seat works front to back but not up and down. But you can hear the seat motors running. The wipers also need attention as they do not currently function but are all there. All of the lights work great. It even has a full set of matching seat belts in the car for safety. Overall the interior is absolutely beautiful but just needs a few little functional things fixed yet to be perfect. Inside the trunk was done and finished off beautifully with its correct spare and jack. It truly looks like a show piece when you pop the trunk in this car.
Mechanically: *Condition #3+
The car runs and drives excellent. It has its correct 365ci V8 engine with a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The engine and transmission looks to have been both rebuilt during the restoration but I do not have receipts of that. Everything is very dry with no leaks and are all painted nicely like they have been out of the car. Under the hood is very clean, correct and original appearing. The car shows 58K miles, which could possibly be original but we do not have any documentation. The air conditioning was serviced but we cannot get to work to its full potential. It truly runs and drives like a nice, very quiet, tight and a pleasure to drive!
Under Carriage: *Condition #3+
The underside is very clean, original and completely solid. It is completely rust free with no undercoating or repairs. It is truly the way anyone would love to find any car, just dry and original. The exhaust system is all-new and sounds very nicely. The suspension is nice and tight and has a great feel still with nothing appeared to be worn out. This is a super dry, southern under carriage.
