For Sale at Auction: 2006 Chevrolet Corvette in Scottsdale, Arizona

Vehicle Description

The Corvette Z06 2006 model arrived in the third quarter of 2005 as the lightest of all Corvette models. The Z06 was equipped with the largest-displacement small-block ever produced, a new 7.0-liter engine code-named LS7. The LS7 produced 505hp, the most powerful naturally aspirated engine put into a production car from General Motors at the time. In addition to the larger displacement engine, the Corvette Z06 has a 6-speed manual transmission, dry-sump oiling system and titanium alloy connecting rods. The Z06's body features larger front and rear fenders, and an intake inlet scoop on the front bumper. The front fenders are constructed with carbon fiber, and the rear fenders contain ducts to aid in cooling the rear brakes. This Z06 carries experimental serial number, designated by the EX at the end of its VIN, and was the first Z06 ever built at the Bowling Green assembly plant on February 4, 2005. In March 2005, it was instrumented and retrofitted with safety equipment at the Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan. In June 2005, it topped 200 mph on the Autobahn with Tony Rifici. Patrick Herrmann averaged 198.6 mph in both directions at Papenberg, Germany in June 2005 with test laps at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, by Jim Mero as the pre-screen for the Z06 press show in June 2005. The same month, this Corvette underwent Nurburgring testing and development, with a fast lap of 7:42.99 from a standing start with Jan Magnussen. During the Nurburgring testing, many photos of the car appeared in automotive magazines, suggesting that it was the Blue Devil. In July 2005, Jan Magnussen gave rides to the press during a long-lead press show. The Z06 underwent more testing at the Virginia International Raceway, this time with Johnny O'Connell behind the wheel. CARFAX shows General Motors manufacturer safety recall issued on 12/04/2014: Low-beam headlamps inoperative. THIS IS A CONCEPT VEHICLE. NEITHER GM NOR BARRETT-JACKSON MAKE ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT CERTIFIED TO COMPLY WITH ANY FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL LAWS, RULES OR REGULATIONS AND MAY NOT BE DRIVEN ON PUBLIC ROADS. THIS VEHICLE WILL BE CONVEYED TO BUYER WITH NO MANUFACTURER STATEMENT OF ORIGIN (MSO) OR TITLE AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A COMPLETE VIN. SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY.
