Vehicle Description
Sporting a great looking shade and wearing an aggressive cowl hood
that hints at the power of the rumbling big block sitting just
underneath, this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Clone has a lot to
offer. This car is actually a 1972 model year and with the addition
of the appropriate external components it has been made to mimic
the pinnacle '70 year. And with a nicely restored interior just
inside it's doors, this is a classic muscle car that will impress
on all accounts.
The exterior is draped with midnight blue paint that's looking its
best. It's got a great shine to it, having just received some work
at the hands of a skilled detailer, and in the process a light
ceramic coating was added for protection, so this shine isn't going
anywhere any time soon. Now sporting the twin dual headlights,
partitioned grille, fenders, rear bumper and tail lights from a
'70, its look has been totally transformed. The nicely contoured
cowl hood not only clears space for the powerplant just below, but
it also adds to the overall muscular appearance, making this
Chevelle stand out that much more. During its transformation
process, those details that make such a difference in vintage rides
like this one were looked after as well - that novel front grille
is in top form, with its headlights surrounded by fresh casings, as
are the bumpers both fore and aft, as well as the trim surrounding
the cabin glass on all four sides. The black vinyl top makes for a
great contrast and shows no bubbling or fading from sun
exposure.
The interior has been brought back to life with some well-chosen
aftermarket components taking their place beside factory
counterparts. The Pro Car buckets up front are a great addition and
blend in well with their surroundings, including the bench seat in
back, and both sit over fresh-looking black carpeting. The dash
area just in front of the aftermarket steering wheel has been
replaced entirely - it was a seamless installation- and the
instrument panel now features a collection of white-faced AutoMeter
gauges to closely monitor engine readings and the overall
minimalist look is a good fit for a no-nonsense performer like
this. It's a pretty inviting environment here - a B&M shifter
sits on top of the very clean center console, beckoning you to grab
ahold, put the transmission into gear and see what this Chevy can
do.
Lift the cowl hood and you'll certainly like what you see. A
sizable 454 cubic inch V8 holds court in the center of a nicely
detailed engine compartment, wearing a pair of sharp blue Moroso
valve covers and an oval Edelbrock air cleaner for some added eye
candy, while an MSD ignition has been added to maximize spark. The
big block runs and sounds great, offering a deep growl through the
long tube headers leading to its dual Flowmaster exhausts. A pair
of Edelbrock 4-barrel carbs stand by just underneath that air
cleaner to provide an optimum feeding for the big block, while a
fuel cell has been mounted in the trunk for added safety measure.
With power disc brakes at all four corners, fade resistant braking
comes easy to this magnetic classic and power steering makes it
easy to navigate as it cruises on its set of 17" Ion wheels
outfitted with Fuzion HRI tires.
Packing some serious power to go along with a great, distinctive
look and skillfully restored interior, this Chevelle has to be seen
to be appreciated. Call today!
