Long Description:  Great example of an authentic 1947 Harley-Davidson FL Deluxe knucklehead motorcycle and 1945 Harley-Davidson LE side car that are both truly spectacular.  Only 6,893 Harley-Davidson FL models were built in 1947, the last year of the “Knucklehead” engine.  This motorcycle underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration.  It is in show quality condition throughout.  It was finished in the correct two-tone color combination of Flight Red and Brilliant Black.  The beautiful color combination is very attractive and commands attention.  It’s been dressed with brilliant trim throughout.  It’s equipped with three lights on the front with turn signals for safety.  It’s also been dressed with a black seat, fender flap and saddle bags.  It was upgraded with an electric ignition system with electric start which was concealed very nicely and works great.  The primary chain drive was also converted to a primary belt drive for reliability.  It’s powered by a matching numbers 74ci 1200cc “Knucklehead” engine that runs and sounds great.  The ‘Knucklehead” is an overhead valve engine with high compression that has a rubber-mounted instrument panel and self-aligning head bearings.  The “Knucklehead” engine played a very important role in the history of Harley-Davidson.  The 7S stamping on the top rear cases are consistent with an F series engine. It also has matching belly numbers.  The hand shift 4-speed manual transmission is stamped L8 which is December of 1948.  It has a chrome battery cover and a plug in the tool box for battery charging.  This side car also underwent a complete restoration.  The side car is all steel and was painted to match the motorcycle.  They both have matching tombstone taillights.  The side car has a windshield and cover.  They both sit on matching chrome star hub wheels with matching Avon MKII 5.00-16 tires including the spare.  This seldom seen package will be a great addition to any motorcycle collection.
