You are looking at a 1959 Austin-Healey Sprite that has been
upfitted with the Ashley Lightweight body kit, a roll cage, and
everything you need to go SCCA racing. Joe Kelly purchased this car
in 1965, and upgraded it for racing. Kelly was a very successful
Porsche racer, and won several Championships, and at least one SCCA
HP National Championship. The car was built with the Ashley
Lightweight Body kit including the front "bonnet" (no bugeyes!) and
the light weight hardtop. It has a roll cage, racing type seat
belts, special aluminum American Racing Lemans wheels, and new
Pirelli tires. It was restored around 2007, and has not been raced
since that time. It has spent the last few years in a private
collection of very rare and unique automobiles. It comes with a
variety of extra parts, including the wind wings, and a big box
full of documentation and receipts from the 60's on up. If you are
looking to get started in racing, this is an inexpensive place to
start. It would also be superb for that special son, daughter, or
wife that wants to play as well. It runs and drives fine. No smoke.
