Vehicle Description
This 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible has been professionally frame-off
restored and it powered by its original 389/360hp Pontiac Tri-Power
engine and close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission with a 3.90:1
Safe-T-Track rear axle. All the components have been carefully
restored. During the restoration, the car was completely
disassembled and stripped to the bare metal. The frame was removed
and the entire drivetrain was rebuilt. The body was gone over from
front to back and is laser-straight. Once the body was prepared, it
was given a fresh coat of the correct Montero Red, using the modern
DuPont base coat/clear coat paint. The frame was also stripped, and
all chassis components were replaced and refinished in the correct
original factory finishes. While the engine was out of the car, it
was sent out and completely rebuilt. The engine block was honed and
new pistons, rings and bearings were installed. The crank was
checked and lightly refinished. The original cylinder heads were
checked and given a valve job, along with new valves and valve
springs. Once reassembled, the entire engine assembly was given a
coat of the correct Pontiac blue engine paint. No stone was left
unturned, and the interior was completely redone with correct
materials. All instruments and gauges were checked for operation
and repaired or replaced if necessary. All wire harnesses were
replaced with new. The restoration on this GTO is factory-correct,
down to the correct headlamps and original-style red line tires.
This GTO comes with PHS paperwork.
