Vehicle Description
This 1965 Toyota FJ45L 4x4 custom pickup is a unique vehicle that
is the ultimate Land Cruiser. The Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser is a
versatile, rugged and no-nonsense vehicle that was available in
three different configurations: 4-door wagon, short-bed pickup and
long-bed pickup. Availability in the U.S. was limited to the years
1963-67. The 45 long-bed has a square bed with tie-down loops on
the sides and a removable hardtop. This FJ45 was treated to a
frame-off restoration with many custom features throughout. The
goal during the restoration was to build something fun that could
be enjoyed. The entire truck was disassembled and bead-blasted
while keeping some of the factory pinch welds. During the
restoration a 1978 hood, side aprons, front panel and grille were
added to give it a slightly more modern look. It has new fenders
with later-model doors with one-piece glass. It was painted white,
which looks beautiful. It was then decorated with TRD emblems and
decals. It has all-new glass with the exception of the door glass.
Some exterior upgrades include a Lazer Star 48" LED light bar,
Summit Racing LED headlights, ZXR 9000-pound winch, custom bumpers,
diamond plating and chrome wheels with 37x12.50 R15 Goodyear
Wrangler MT/R tires. The bed was Rhino-lined black, and a storage
box, along with a matching full size spare tire, was added. The
interior cab was painted and the floors were also Rhino-lined. The
restored interior is also beautiful and comfortable. Some interior
upgrades include a carpeted headliner and sound bar, custom gauges,
Billet Specialties Formula 14" steering wheel, 1979 FJ40 bucket
seats, RCI seatbelts, custom pedals, custom console, custom
shifter, custom sound system and mounted fire extinguisher. The
painted engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout. It houses
a 350ci V8 engine that runs and sounds great. Some engine upgrades
include an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor, Holley fuel
pump, Billet Specialties Streamline air cleaner, Streamline valve
covers and custom pulleys. The engine is cooled by an aluminum
radiator with billet overfill canister. The engine breathes through
Hooker ceramic headers and a Flowmaster exhaust system with chrome
tips. The engine is coupled to a 1978 FJ40 4-speed manual
transmission with Centerforce clutch. It's equipped with a Saginaw
power steering unit that works nicely. The undercarriage is
detailed throughout with many upgrades. Some of the upgrades
include a counteract electrostatic corrosion control system, FJ40
front and rear differentials with front disc brakes, Bilstein
shocks and a relocated battery. Many modifications were made
throughout to make this build function. It has recently been
serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is
included.
