"CAMPER SPECIAL"
This lovely truck needs a forever home. It needs someone who understands it and who can keep it running smooth. If you are that person, you will find that this truck turns heads, and people will approach you to admire it and tell you that their grandpa had one just like it.
I have spent tens of thousands getting this truck running but it is in need of ongoing adjustment and maintenance to keep it at its best and I am not a gear head. I just want a working truck. I don't want to drive this one because it is such a classic, I don't want to put any more wear and tear on it.
Service records available via email (pdf), which show the contact information for the mechanic who most recently did extensive work on it-- don't speak "mechanic" so don't ask me. If I am stating it correctly, the engine was rebuilt in CA in 2014, and then it was reassembled in 2016 because the original work caused some problems. It was not running when I got it. It had been parked in a garage in Santa Rosa CA for 5 years by its owner who could not afford to fix it but kept it in his garage so he could sit in the cab and drink where his wife wouldn't look for him (she probably knew where he was). He gave it to me and I got it running in California. I drove it to Las Vegas in 2014 and I have barely driven it since because I realized it is just too much truck for me. I am trying to keep it in good shape and with low miles for its next owner-you!
This truck only has 89,000 miles on it, and in the past ten years the only driving it has done is back and forth to the mechanic. It is clean and original inside and out. No body damage.
In addition to work under the hood, I have done work on the air conditioning system and the exhaust system, trying to make it quieter.
