1951 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 Ton Stepside Pickup Truck
Garage Kept Motors is pleased to offer this beautifully restored
1951 Chevrolet Pickup for consideration. Our client is the third
owner of this vehicle and acquired it from South Dakota in 1992. It
is a Western truck with zero rust and has been preserved with care
over the past 25 years.
When the truck arrived in Michigan, it was all original with faded
Forest Green paint (see photo). 15 years ago, our client restored
the truck to the condition seen today, repainting it Red. He also
added new custom seats, refinished the bed wood, added the side
wood panels, new wheels and tires, and refinished all the chrome.
Mechanically, he had the original and temperamental 216 engine
removed, and replaced it with a 1955 261 Inline 6-Cylinder. The
engine bay looks the same, but the motor was rebuilt and bored .10
over. The original transmission was replaced with a T5 S10 gearbox,
yet still has the original floor shifter for changing gears. A new
driveshaft was professionally installed too with a 4:11 rear end,
and with all these upgrades, the truck can travel highway speeds
(70 mph) smooth without over revving the powerplant. It is a
turn-key classic truck that starts on command, runs and shifts
smooth, and is ready for a new garage to call home.
As the market continues to trend for classic trucks, we believe
this is a fine example offered at a very realistic price. Being
from out West, you won't find any rust and you'll get a nostalgic
ownership experience. The perfect parade truck, cruising to the
local drive in, or a trip up north to the lake. The truck also
comes with a copy of the original South Dakota title and has less
than 3,700 miles since finished. A proud truck with a great stance
