Seller Description:
The year was 1961, the second year of the move by Chevrolet to
produce the angular "high boy" look more appropriate for the hip
60's. Along with the new look were options and features that moved
the Chevy Utility lines into step with the growing mainstream. As
part of the expansion the now-familiar C designation was instituted
for 4x2. This model has the upper and lower tailgate option making
it very easy to load and unload.
This model shows the hood "eyebrows" only used on the 1960 and 1961
versions. This model will seat 5 with the comfort minivan seats
(buckets in the front and bench in the rear). The back has plenty
of room for luggage or anything else one might want to carry (the
previous owner camped in it and laid a mattress out in the back).
There's a full set of Goodyear Wrangler RT/5's with plenty of tread
on them. The spare appears to be brand new. Also included are 2
hitches, a regular one and a drop hitch.
There is little to no rust on the vehicle. The previous owner
showed me where a small section of the rear drivers side wheel well
was patched but if he hadn't pointed it out I never would have seen
it. The paint is ok and it will get by but at some point if it is a
keeper for you, you will want to give it a new paint job. There are
a couple of blemishes on the hood on the driver's side as you can
see in the pictures. The chrome front and rear bumpers are in good
shape. Overall the suburban is in good condition and most certainly
would serve well as a daily driver. It drives down the road nicely
with a stock 305 V8 matched with a 700R overdrive transmission and
a 3.08 rear. Its got a EDELBROCK Performer Intake, HOLLEY Street
Avenger 670 CFM Carb, 1 5/8 Headers w/ dual exhaust, Aluminum
radiator, SUMMIT 1 Wire Alternator, Chrome Valve Covers & Air
Filter.
SERIOUSLY....HOW COOL IS THIS S.C. SIDE OF THE ROAD FIND !!!!!!
