EXTERIOR: It shows like a new car. I did a walk around and was very
impressed. Upfront the rub strips on the bumper are in excellent
condition. The lower spoiler is not scuffed, grill is excellent.
The body is excellent. Straight- no door dings, no rust. Paint has
a glossy, polished finish. Paint is claimed to be original. The
glass is excellent, rubber trim is very good. In back the tail
lights are pristine, the rub strips are not nicked up. The original
wheels are really in excellent shape. The chrome is bright, the
black inserts aren't worn, center caps are excellent. Tires have
been replaced 1,500 miles ago.
INTERIOR: Practically looks new inside with one exception- the
headliner is drooping. The reclining bucket seats don't show any
wear. Carpet and door panels are mint too. The dash area, console
are excellent. Leather wrapped wheel is excellent, one little crack
on horn bezel. It still has the factory stereo. It has factory
tachometer, power windows and locks, cruise control and tilt
wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This 3.8 liter, intercooled, turbocharged V-6
with sequential fuel injection really caught people's attention. It
beat everything including the Corvette. Very clean original
condition. The only upgrade is the air intake. Still has the hood
insulation with Buick Turbocharged logo.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Nice original condition. Has jack, spare and
mat.
UNDERSIDE: Very well preserved original condition underneath. No
signs of damage or rust. Everything appears to be proper as it left
the factory. Has vin # matched 200R-4 overdrive trans. Still has
stock exhaust system with catalytic converter. Shocks are new.
Brakes were redone 1,500 miles ago.
This was the fastest production car built in 1986. Sales doubled in
its last year of production in 1987. Now today they are even more
popular for nostalgic reasons. Finding such a well preserved
original like this is very desirable!
