Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this stunning frame on restored 1962 Triumph TR4 which is beautiful overall condition and comes with Overdrive and a rare highly desired Aluminum Surrey Top. This TR4 was frame on restored over many years and comes with over $16,000 in restoration receipts over the last 4 years in a 3" three ring binder. This TR4 was taken apart and sanded to bare metal and color changed from red to black, several restoration photos are included at the end of the photo gallery. This TR4 has been completely restored and features a beautiful recent paint job in Black, Working Overdrive Transmission, a fully restored interior, An Aluminum Surrey Top, and over 16K in restoration receipts from the last 4 years. This TR4 is turn key and is ready for show or go. This TR4 is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black exterior over Black interior. A heritage trust certificate is included with the sale of this TR4.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in very nice restored condition. This TR4 was treated to a recent paint job in 2017 and shows very well in base coat/clear coat Black paint. The body was mostly removed from the frame and sanded to bare metal prior to the color change from red to black. The paint is in great condition and has a nice shine and great gloss and is smooth to the touch. The body is very solid and the gaps and lines are very nice on this car. There is no visible rust anywhere on this car and no bubbling paint anywhere. The underside is very solid as well. Front and rear suspension has been restored as evident in the photos. New springs have been installed and a rear shock conversion has taken place. Both bumpers are in spectacular condition and the chrome is mirror like. The tires have good tread left and are sized 175/70/15 and the Minilite wheels are virtually brand new with no wear in any way. The surrey top is the rare Aluminum style and is very light weight and super easy to remove and secure. The surrey top headliner was just restored and in new condition with a $400 receipts included for the work. The back light has original Triplex Glass. The vinyl soft top is included as well and in like new condition. All weather stripping and seals are in like new condition and have been replaced. Trunk is very solid and clean with a Minilite spare tire and jack. Windshield has been replaced but both doors have original Triplex XXX glass. The factory body beading is included and so is the TR4 emblem and letters and other emblems. The previous owner removed the emblems and beading during the repaint and chose not to reinstall.
Interior
The Black interior of this TR4 is in terrific restored condition. The seat covers are in excellent overall condition with no noticeable wear and no seam splits or rips. The seat covers are soft and the seats are very comfortable and the foam is firm as well. The carpet was replaced and is in good overall condition. The door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. Rear interior panels are in great condition too. The metal dash surround is in excellent condition and looks great in the car. The gauges all work and are clear and crisp. The horn, wipers, blower motor, and all lights work. The floors has been treated with sound deadner. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This TR4 is in very good mechanical condition and it runs and drives very well and was used as a daily driver by the previous owner on good weather days. Previous owner performed a lot of mechanical work on this car over the last 4 years including, a rebuilt distributor with new plugs, wires, and coil, rebuilt carbs., new clutch and slave cylinder, complete overhaul of brakes, rebuilt cylinder head, rebuilt generator and new battery, new water pump and fuel pump, flush radiator and replace all fluids, replace steering rack and tie rod ends, etc. This TR4 pulls very well and runs and drives wonderfully. Overdrive transmission works as it should and really adds to the driving experience especially at higher sustained speeds. New electrics were just replaced in the overdrive including the relay, column switch, and the overdrive solenoid. Overdrive works in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. We have driven this TR4 numerous times and it always performs well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. This TR4 is an excellent driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. The brakes have been serviced and they do not pull and stop as they should. The clutch was also refreshed and the car shifts smoothly without issue. The stock style exhaust sounds great at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is meticulously clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
