The legacy of the Super Snake name dates back to the 1960’s when Carroll Shelby created a pair of Cobras packing dual superchargers to create the ultimate road cars. The name wouldn’t resurface until again until 2007 When Ford brought by the Shelby GT500. If a standard GT500 from Ford wasn’t enough, Shelby offered an in house upgrade package that improved on power, handling and looks called the Super Snake. In 2014, last year of GT500 production, the stock GT500 was already putting out 662hp so to create a car worthy of the Super Snake name Shelby had to go over the top. Two versions were offered, one that left the engine alone and upgraded everything else, the other added a liquid cooled super charger, turning it into a supercharged 850hp monster. There were several options available including further enhanced suspensions, upgraded interior packages and even a wide body conversion for the rear quarters.
This particular black on black Super Snake, CSM # 14SS0037, was shipped directly to Shelby American in Las Vegas from the factory to undergo the conversion. It was ordered with multiple upgrades, most notably the 850hp supercharger upgrade and the wide body conversion. Additionally it was spec’d with the upgraded interior, a Watts link rear end, 3.73 gears and a matte black center strip. The car rides on black 20” Shelby wheels wrapped in Pilot Supersport tires, backed with Wilwood disc brakes. It utilizes Ford racing lowering springs, a cold air intake and a Borla exhaust system. The interior features a specially numbered CSM dash plaque, Super Snake door sill plates and floor mats, A pillar mounted gauges, embroidered headrests and a short throw shifter capped off with a white ball. From new, it has covered just 8,600 miles with documented service records showing how well it has been cared for. Additionally the car comes with all paperwork, receipts and certificates from Shelby American as well as the original Ford window sticker, 2 sets of keys, manuals and a spare set of floor mats signed by Carrol Shelby
