Vehicle Description
1985 Chevrolet C10 Pickup
Pro Street is a style of street-legal custom car popular in the
1980s, usually built to imitate a Pro Stock class race car. Pro
Street cars should appear to be more at home on the drag strip than
the street, while remaining street legal and not gutted like a Race
Car or Bracket Race car. Typically called a Backhalf car
(tubbed).
This street legal race truck has undergone extensive renovations,
mostly to make it quicker to drive it in a straight line. It is
also content to drive any street legally, as it possesses an
antique license plate.
Exterior
Custom 2 tone paint in deep red topped with black covers this
truck. Some chipping of the paint is seen throughout but presents
in good condition. An airbrushed belt line distinguishes the border
between the two colors, and on the bed, some blue flames lick the
rear tires. A bed cover in fair shape has several repairs on top
and is extremely tight due to some drying out. Some shaving of
brite work, addition of smaller side marker lights, and elimination
of chrome on the grille and bumpers, give this truck a menacing
look. Boyd Coddington Custom Rims and ultra-wide rear tires along
with a lowered suspension may give it away as well.
Interior
At first glance you are looking at a standard, stock, mild mannered
C10 gray cloth interior. A bench seat, and standard C10 door panels
and dash, steering wheel and pedals, all stock.... actually, the
interior is custom but appears standard. A turn of the key reveals
all digital dash that is behind a smoked glass instrument panel.
Blue LCD displays are seen on all readouts...Neato! Dr. Poppers
door actuators are outside the cab. Electric windows have also been
added.
Drivetrain
A '69 Vette 427 CI mill has been dropped in, as well as dual
4-barrel carburetors to feed it with fuel. Attached to the back is
a TH400 transmission with a shift kit installed. 4:11 Ford 9"
differential with a four link setup powers it does the track.
Extra rear tires, a fuel pump shutoff, custom paint, and a Corvette
engine thrown in to boot! Now we have one sweet C10 here for the
taking. Stop by Classic Auto Mall and make a little noise and smoke
up our parking lot.
