Vehicle Description
1967 Plymouth Sport Fury
Virtually everyone knows Plymouth as one of Detroit's legendary
muscle car divisions. And while it eventually spawned some of
America's premier stoplight warriors, the brand itself started as
Chrysler's entry level marque to rival Ford and Chevrolet in both
sales and popularity. That means many of the storied muscle cars
enthusiasts know and love began life like this stylish 1967 Sport
Fury. This all-American cruiser HAS to be one of the coolest
Plymouths on the planet! If you're a Mopar collector who's itching
for some early Mopar American Muscle that'll be the star of every
cruise night in town, this '67 Fury is your ticket!
This all steel rust free Texas (where everything is bigger) car to
start out with and since entering Pennsylvania, it has not seen any
snow covered roads, or salt. It has seen the inside of a garage, so
we can safely say this car is in excellent condition! Read
on...
Exterior
A beautiful maroon covers the lower body steel panels that are
laser straight, with great gaps between all panels. Paint courtesy
Lichty Brothers, in beautiful downtown East Earl, Pennsylvania
which is a first class operation, and it shows on the exterior.
Contrasting gray covers the roof steel and has a hint of metallic.
All badging and exterior chrome adornments are shiny and clean.
Bumpers and grille appear just as nicely as the rest of the bling
on this car. Solid chromed Crager wheels with gummy radials are
seen on all fours. A flip of the trunk and a coated floor in
beautiful condition jet black harbors the spare.
Interior
One word sums up the interior...New. New high back buckets with
buttons with new seat belts that have shoulder harnesses, and a
bench bringing up the rear, are seen in the red interior. Carpeting
appears new, and headliner is just the same. The retro dash gleams
with gauges, dials, toggles and wheels to control all working
wipers, heater and air conditioning..." meet George Jetson...".
Original steering wheel fronts the dash and is wrapped with an
aftermarket leather. Door panels are all very nicely preserved as
expected. Last a custom built radio with aux cord input looks
original, and made by Retro Radio, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
Drivetrain
A completely rebuilt 383ci V8 with a mere 300 miles on it, is
backed by a 727 3-speed automatic transmission. Also, a new 750 CFM
Edelbrock Carb with dual inlet air cleaner sits proudly on top of
the pristine mill. The newly cored radiator, and while we are at
it, a shroud, and 7 blade 20" clutch drive fan keeps the muscle
cool.
Undercarriage
As expected, clean with slight surface rust and patina on surfaces
but otherwise unremarkable. Front disc brakes have added power, and
rear drum brakes have new hardware attached. Seen also is a 2.94:1
rear differential.
A fine example of a 1967 Plymouth with muscle. New creature
comforts added, and mechanical upgrades have added much reliability
to this vehicle. A wonderful paint job, with a great color combo,
this is surely a head turner, and neck snapper. Remember, this
example debunks the phrase "All hat, No cattle", as definitely it
has both!
